The first time I heard the song “Cheeseburger,” I was blown away by the creativity and bravery of the incredibly authentic and unique Amy Peters. She was on the search for a company to produce a music video for her within her budget that could truly capture her energy, honesty and out of the box approach to musicality. I always appreciate the opportunity to interpret an artists work and this was an amazing opportunity to bring to life a song that was as much fun as it was purposeful. We passed some ideas back and forth about the concept but she had 1 key request – It had to rain french fries at the end of the video!
So we put together an amazing team – Director Logen Christopher (@logenctv), Producer/AD Corey Rich (@coreyarich), Food Stylist Selby Knoblock, Makeup Artist Leslie Ellis (@locksbyleslie), and Camera Tech/Operator Logan “Loki” Michael. We filmed it on our Ursa Mini 4.6K cinema camera with some dynamic LUTS to capture as much saturation and bright feeling as possible.
We were incredibly fortunate to find an amazing location near the last minute – House: A Social Eatery, (http://www.housesocialeatery.com/) in The Nations that was overjoyed to have us. The restaurant had all of the vintage fixtures we were looking for and also had the quirky edge that Amy radiates. We filmed the other studio and performance setups in our Studio in Berry Hill – http://stormlightpictures.com/nashville-studio-rental/.
Amy does some sound engineering and video editing and was heavily involved in helping us craft the edit. We were stoked to have her so involved with the process and so happy to have an artist so excited to be making a video. It’s a really infectious energy.
Could not have made this music video happen without our amazing team. You can check out some of the BTS footage on Amy’s Facebook.
We are so happy with how the music video came out and we hope that other artists see that Stormlight is not afraid to think outside the box!
